Milwaukee got bitch slapped today. They were winning 6-5, then gave up 8 runs in the 8th inning to San Diego. They burned three pitchers in that inning.

Kendrys Morales has been shut down again, and is set to miss the remainder of his second straight season. This is really fucking sad. I real for the guy, I really do. All because he hit a home run and was tackled at the plate.

Possibly. But they really like Trumbo. He's an Anaheim kid, leads the team in RBIs and is filling the void pretty well. My own thought, was that the Angels would only seriously get in the Pujols race if the Cardinals were out of the race, as with Morales, they are probably the only team with pieces to trade for Pujols. But that was a major stretch anyways. Fielder is definitely a possibility, and would fit in nicely as their DH.

We have more money off the books, and need a 1B more. But don't discount Arte Moreno.

Ace's favorite site thinks we're keen on Carlos Beltran. While this author actually seems legit, and his analysis of the situation is accurate, Beltran will not be a Cub and certainly not for the price of Vitters or McNutt.

Wouldn't be shocked to see Beltran in right next year but unless the Cubs start winning regularly soon, I would be shocked to hear that Ricketts is planning to add $9 MM to this years salary and part with a legitimate prospect. The wild card is Hendry. Many believe he needs to be above 500 this year to renew his contract but without butts in the seats at Wrigley I just can't see Ricketts authorizing increasing 2011 payroll.
