Wow, he will leave a long legacy of douche when his time is finally up there. This doesn't seem to make much sense for him though.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Depends on what they're paying him.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
He's getting 105 million.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
In addition to what he's making through 2015. So I guess $21 mil per for 5 years. <b>He'll be a 37 year-old Affliction-wearing douche at the end of that contract.</b>

He needs to engage the poverty-stricken Mike Leake as his personal shopper. Problem solved.

Yup. They already had him extended, what is the point of going farther and now being forced to pay all that money regardless of career trend or injuries.
I hate my pretentious sounding username too.

Yea, but he is one of the top offensive left fielders in the game. You can't predict injuries, or else nobody would get a long-term contracts.
I just want to drink beer and play atari

Either they just wanted to rub it in Fielder's face, or they thought that after the Pujols/Fielder deals this offseason the market is going to get ridiculous.

This sounds like the more likely answer.

Obviously. But they had four more years to decide. A lot can happen in those four years, why rush into a lifetime contract? Especially in baseball when it's all guaranteed money.

Anibal Sanchez is giving the Rockies the face treatment through 8. Go to that game now(probably on MLB Network).

Could MLB Network fill up the screen with anymore shit?
This is not some silly theory that's unsupported and deserves being mocked by photos of Xena.  [Image: ITgoyeg.png]

Damn it........why did I drop Sanchez from my fantasy team last week? He hasn't been that great before tonight. 5.84 ERA with a 2.02 WHIP and 0 Wins.

He's your classic amazing or blah guy it seems. He's had some incredible outings in the past and then you don't hear about him for 2 months after.
