Exactly, and I don't necessarily have a good feeling about Ricketts allowing Hendry/whoever to go after a high profile 1B. I have nothing to back that up just a feeling I get from him.

But yeah, I don't care how good his OBP is, dropping 10 millie on a sub .200 hitter is a big blunder.

It also pretty much guarantees that they don't resign Fielder (it was a long shot anyway). There is no way a team like the Brewers is going to have 40+ million tied up in two players.

In addition to what he's making through 2015. So I guess $21 mil per for 5 years. He'll be a 37 year-old Affliction-wearing douche at the end of that contract.
