Fine, I'm with you. I'd give up McNutt and Lee as well. But, as Ace pointed out on his blog, the Royals weren't asking for McNutt and Lee. They were asking for McNutt and Lee and Brett Jackson and Robinson Chorinos. That's gutting our system.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
That seems like more than what the Brewers gave up, but whatever. If any of those guys end up being nearly as good as Greinke, I'll be pretty psyched. And surprised.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I'm fairly certain none of them will be as good as 2009 Greinke. But it's possible any of them could be as good as 2010 Greinke.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
2010 wasn't great, but I'm guessing playing for a perennial last place team was starting to wear on him. I guess we'll have to wait and see who the "real" Greinke is...
It just sucks to see the Brewers leapfrog us. I'm still trying to adjust to the fact that 2011 is going to blow...

Its just not the right time, IMHO, to give up any top prospects for almost anyone really. If we were in the Red Sox/Yankees position, I would absolutely explore a Greinke/Agon deal. But the fact of the matter is this team needs a lot of work. We're not really "just the one piece" away from greatness.

I think the cubs should never deal prospects ever, because everyone of them will be stars. That's the way it's always been.

Technically, the only team that can leapfrog the Cubs, is the Pirates.

O's looking at D-Lee? Man...it's like they're literally trying to assemble an all ex-Cubs team there.
