I know a perfect game means retiring every hitter. But I think it should be no hits no walks, regardless.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Um, <b>a perfect game can't have walks either</b>. It's 27 up, 27 down. No one reaches base for any reason.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Um, vegas knows that.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I'm confused then.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I think he's saying a perfect game should be any game in which a pitcher doesn't let anybody on with a walk or hit (i.e. should the pitcher be punished for an error by a position player?).
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
OK, I wasn't comprehending the second sentence he wrote.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Yes, sorry for the confusion. I could've stated it better. What Kid said.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

HEY! I'm the one that stuck up for you first.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Sorry, Ace. I just meant Kid's statement is exactly what I meant. But thank you for stating that I probably understood the concept of the perfect game.

As part of the deal where they acquired Scott Hairston, the A's sent Sean Gallagher to the Padres.

I hate my pretentious sounding username too.

Teams are fucking stupid. Cardinals up 2-0 tonight, both runs from Pujols homers. Stop pitching to him.

He's always been right at the doorstep of suck. One day he'll end up in the pen, because he's just a 5 inning SP. Very talented, but he's never really learned how to conserve his pitches.

The weirdest error just happened, and Vin Scully agrees. Mike Hampton got pissed(I assume he allowed a run somehow, I tuned in right after it), and slammed the ball in frustration, but missed his glove. So he threw the ball to himself and missed, the ball gets away, the Dodgers score another run. He was charged an error for this. Then he was pulled.

Nice deal for the Brewers, they got Felipe Lopez for 2 minor leaguers. That'll basically make up for the loss of Weeks. Still, they need a legitimate starting pitcher or two. Manny Parra looks like he may have figured it out so that would be a nice boost for them.

Would have really liked the Cubs to acquire him. Anyways, unless the Brewers get a pitcher they are not going anywhere.

Damn, I wanted the Cubs to grab Lopez Knew it wasn't going to happen though.

Jason Marquis is about to win his major league leading 12th game.

And speaking of pitchers if the Giants find a way to make it to the postseason, I could really see them winning it all. Lincecum and Cain maybe the best 1-2 punch we have seen in a long time.

I've watched it, he would've given up a few runs in another park against another team. He's pretty much always been absolute ass in the 2nd half.

2005...
1st half: 8-6, 3.89 ERA
2nd half: 5-8, 4.41 ERA

2006...
1st half: 11-6, 5.55 ERA
2nd half: 3-10, 6.72 ERA

2007...
1st half: 6-5, 3.67 ERA
2nd half: 6-4, 5.73 ERA

2008...
1st half: 6-5, 4.44 ERA
2nd half: 5-4, 4.66 ERA (and a bunch less starts with the Harden move and Lou was sick of him)

Career...

1st half: 60-39, 4.16 ERA, 1.347 WHIP, .253 BAA, .729 OPS
2nd half: 30-37, 4.93 ERA, 1.513 WHIP, .285 BAA, .818 OPS

Now obviously his 1st half this year helps those numbers, but it's still a noticeable difference.

Also, I pointed out a lot last year how much better Marquis has always been in NL West parks, even Coors Field. Maybe that's just where he's supposed to be for whatever reason. I expect him to basically be the #4/#5 he is the rest of the year though.

<!--quoteo-->QUOTE <!--quotec-->The Reds announced that Ramon Hernandez will have knee surgery and miss 4-6 weeks.
So much for any chance of him being traded. The Reds are likely at least as well off with Ryan Hanigan getting another chance to be their starting catcher. Craig Tatum will be recalled to act as the backup. Jul. 19 - 5:23 pm et<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
