Any guesses as to over / under on date the season is shut down?



I’ve been enjoying the games even under current environment but 20% of MLB games are already postponed within first 8 days of MLB starting season - and that was b4 today’s announcement of additional Card’s staff testing positive



If the league makes it through Monday, I’m guessing they’ll probably make it to mid August.



Until pandemic is under better control and rapid, reliable testing is available, playing sports in multiple locations with large staffs doesn’t work.

I still believe it will only be a temporary pause (maybe 10 days) in the season unless the MLBPA revolts against Manfred.

The owners and the league haven't cornered the market on stupidity. The players have an abundance of it.

Go tell them Manfred. Agreed. Youre no quitter. Player and staff safety be damned. Players are idiots. How else do you explain theyre willingness to risk exposing themselves to covid virus during a pandemic at a fraction of the expected compensation? Oh yeah, the love of the game and need to provide for themselves sounds nice and all but at the heart of it, its all the players fault. Who could have had anticipated that testing protocols wasnt up to standards required for player and staff safety or that players would want to interact with each other and public? Plus, believe that Alex Jones was reporting that the MLBPA working with Dr. Fauci developed the virus so they could cause owners to lose billions. Yeah, some players are idiots so the people who developed protocols to ensure safety have to work additional measures into system to reduce risk for these and other players.

That was me at my former job this April (close public exposure, here in the early COVID community-spread Northeast).

 

He will not be back.
