MLB News & Notes (other than Cubs or Sox)

Groundball to first base, Mets throw it away, easy force play at home. 5 errors. Scully just said, "Holy mackerel... Not a bad game, a NIGHTMARE game for the Mets. It very well may have been the worst game the Mets have played since Casey Stengel and the 1962 Mets."

Now that Delgado is out for at least 2 months does anyone think the Mets would be interested in D Lee?

Nope. And DLee has a no trade contract IIRC. I don't think he will give it up for any team that is not on the west coast.

The Mets gave that game away. Pathetic, the Dodgers got lucky.
I hate my pretentious sounding username too.

Remeber last year after the trade when Gammons had one of his specials saying that Gallagher would be better than Harden not only in the future, but for the rest of 08?

Those ESPN fucks are always saying stupid things. I prefer the local sports outlets like Comcast. That way i don't hear about the yankees and the rest of the AL East every other story

I love Gammons. He's certainly not the problem I have with ESPN. Ditto with Stark and Kurkjian.

Indians game looked like the Cubs game Saturday. Cliff Lee with 8 great innings at KC, allows 2 runs. Leaves the game up 5-2. Kerry Wood comes in, gives up 4 in the 9th, KC wins. Wood has an 8.31 ERA.

What the hell is going on with Wood? He's been atrocious.

I think he'll get it together eventually. Didn't he have a pretty pathetic stretch last season for about 2-3 weeks and then followed that up with a pretty nice season. Or maybe the AL is the wrong league for him or he's hurt.

<!--quoteo-->QUOTE <!--quotec-->According to SI.com's Jon Heyman, the Indians are "now fielding offers" for utilityman Mark DeRosa.
The Indians are reportedly seeking major league-ready pitching. DeRosa, 34, is batting .242/.312/.412 in 153 at-bats this season and is owed $4.15 million for the rest of '09. Heyman suggests the Mets might be a good fit.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Somewhere else I saw it suggested that the Brewers would be interested.

I will blow a fucking gasket if DeRosa ends up on the Brewers.

I'll blow a gasket if the Brewers give up more for him than we got in the offseason (only because that would mean we got gipped).
