Should be interesting to see what they do. I can't imagine they will stick with Counsell as an everyday guy. They do have some other options - calling up either Escobar or Gamel and seeing what they can do. Escobar is a SS but I'm sure he could play 2B, Gamel on the other hand is supposedly horrible at 3B, but I'm sure they will consider trying him there and moving Hall to 2B.

Yeah but I think he was called up to DH for their interleague games.
Edit... I see he's playing 3B for them tonight.

Yeah he's starting at 3rd, and just hit a 3-run bomb.

I don't think they're gonna move Hall to 2b. They're gonna go with Counsell and McGehee there now, will probably sign somebody like Durham if that's not working out.

Well he's not going to hit 3-run homers every night obviously and has to prove he can play 3rd adequately(which he's never done) to get much playing time outside of interleague play.

Pretty much his twin, except bats left-handed. He's supposed to be even worse than Braun at 3rd though.
Speaking of Braun, he made probably the best play in his career in left field in this game. This team's playing as well as they possibly can.

Yeah I think they definitely do for the long haul but they're doing well overall now. Gallardo's very good, but it's 4 #4's after him and a pretty blah bullpen overall. I think the Weeks loss is going to really hurt them. He had 16 XBH, including 9 bombs and finally looked like everybody thought he would be when they took him 2nd overall. If Gamel could play defense and hit like they think he can, obviously that will help some. Still though, the offense really shouldn't be that much different than last year, although they are showing some more patience which was a major problem the last couple seasons.
The rotation isn't as good. You take out CC(11-2, 1.65 ERA, 7 CG) and Sheets(13-9, 3.08 ERA), and replace them with Gallardo(he can probably do what Sheets did) and Looper. Then Manny Parra's been a #5 pitcher at best since the first half last year, and Suppan's been getting worse each season. I just have a hard time seeing how they can pitch nearly well enough to be less than 5 games or so worse than last year. Maybe they can hang in there, but it would be an embarrassment if we're not a better team than them.

Living in Wisconsin, I have to deal with Brewers' fans all the time. Even my stepmom is a Brewer fan.
I'm starting to hate the Brewers almost as much as I hate the Pack.

This Mets-Dodgers game is wild. The Mets look like their September selves, have no business winning this one. Ryan Church "scored" in the top half of the inning. Well, he missed 3rd base, appealed, out. Now Beltran and Pagan each go for a flyball in left-center casually, falls right in between them. I've never heard Vin make fun of and laugh at an opposing team as he has tonight, this is hilarious. They've made awful play after awful play.
