MLB News & Notes (other than Cubs or Sox)
It is.

It's fun reading all the Card fans petitioning St. Louis to pickup Tebow. Sounds like he's doing his "tryout" in front of the MLB scouts as I type this.

Oh, please let them pick up Tebow. Please please please.

I love that the Cubs are only one of three teams that didn't even bother sending anyone to watch him.

Yup. Not sure what I like more...the fact Cubs want nothing to do with him, or that Cards fans are blowing their load over him.

Who are the other two?

Only 3 teams didn't take part in this circus?   Wow.

The tryouts must have been held in Maui or something.

This is not some silly theory that's unsupported and deserves being mocked by photos of Xena.  [Image: ITgoyeg.png]

Quote:The Brewers were the team that won the claim for Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig, according to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports. Milwaukee engaged in serious conversations about acquiring the 25-year-old before the waiver placement was revoked by Los Angeles.

Intriguingly, the trade dialogue between the two organizations included star Brewers outfielder Ryan Braun. It seems reasonably likely that there were quite a few other moving parts involved, but those two players undoubtedly make for fascinating centerpieces on either side.

It is not yet clear whether the clubs intend to revisit the matter in the offseason, though it certainly seems plausible. Los Angeles was not interested in parting with Puig unless it obtained a "better player" in the swap, per Rosenthal. If that remains true this winter, then Braun - who is older and more expensive - would certainly fit the mold of the type of asset that could be pursued.

The Pirates are a disgrace.

What'd they do now?

Pretty much every mistake one team can make in a single game today, they made against the Cardinals. It got so bad that Kuhl was staring into the dugout, literally begging to be lifted back in the 2nd inning, and things just snowballed from that point on. I think we broke them once and for all. Pussies.

Strasburg, who was activated today, left his start in the third with an apparent injury. In Dusty they trusty.

The decision to sign an extension early is looking more shrewd with every passing day.
