MLB News & Notes (other than Cubs or Sox)
If anyone wants to argue that sports fans aren't geeks, I'd suggest launching your argument by pointing to variant caps and uniforms.

Those Padres-themed home run derby caps make my eyeballs bleed.

Twins and Braves are both 0-8 to start the season. That's kind of shitty.

And Olivera (sp?) got arrested for some domestic violence this morning.

As long as they keep playing the Twins, they'll go undefeated from here on out.

But their pitching staff is pretty solid -- gotta give them that.

They've played the A's and the Twins, not much competition there.  We'll see how they stand up to better teams.

The White Sox now have the same fucking record as us.

If there's a Cubs-White Sox World Series, Chicago will slide off and sink into Lake Michigan.

On this date last year, these eleven teams were all .600 or better: Tigers, Rockies, Royals, Mets, Braves, Red Sox, Dodgers, Cubs, Cardinals, Rays, Padres. Only five (Royals, Mets, Dodgers, Cubs, Cardinals) ended the season with winning records. It's just a weeee bit early to care too much about the standings.

At this point my only interest/concern is my team. I'm putting the Sox on the pay no mind list until we face them. Getting Hawk out of the booth for 1/2 of their games has tempered my hatred toward those hillbillies quite a bit, believe it or not.

Take that back.
