MLB News & Notes (other than Cubs or Sox)
Quote:Suuuuuure.

<blockquote class="ipsBlockquote">
Scott Merkin reports that White Sox pitcher Chris Sale won't make his Cactus League debut until March 19. There is nothing wrong with him - Sale is perfectly healthy - but the White Sox are wanting to keep from working him too hard. He'll throw simulated games and bullpen sessions over the next couple weeks

That would really be a shame if he were hurt. I would feel horrible about that.

No reason to wish injury on the helpless

Desmond finally agrees to one year deal with the Rangers. I doubt we will see another offseason like this one ever again.

Chapman suspended 30 games under MLB's domestic violence policy.  He is not planning to appeal suspension.

He'll lose 30 days of service time but still be eligible for free agency at end of season.

Meh, it was a picture of Starlin with the Yankees. File too big to attach from my phone.

Remember when the Ricketts family was offering 3-5% minority shares in the Cubs somewhere in the range of $20-25mil? Well, a similar investment in the Yankees would only net you a 1% stake.

Probably still a solid long-term investment even at this valuation.

The Sox DFAd Mike Olt to make room for Jackson.

This is not some silly theory that's unsupported and deserves being mocked by photos of Xena.  [Image: ITgoyeg.png]

Peralta possibly out 2-3 months with a ligament tear in his thumb. Heartbreaking, truly.

Ace has reported that Peralta injuries thumb - could have torn ligament(s) which would take him our of action 2-3 months.

It's the Cards so whomever replaces him, Gyorko?, is a sure fire MVP candidate.
