Will Smith's son will be ruining the upcoming remake of Karate Kid. I can't even begin to express how much that chaps my ass.

Am I the only one here that is pissed that they're remaking Karate Kid? Come the fuck on, enough with the remakes already. It's not even like many remakes where adding in CGI will add things to the movie they couldn't in the original... unless they add in a matrix-esque scene for Danielsan. Bingo, and you're absolutely not the only one. In fact, I started doing a blog awhile ago when I heard of a remake, and then my blog became useless when I heard it's about Will Smith's son going to Beijing or some shit. Anyway, here's all I had and who knows if I could've gotten to 30 reasons like the plan was, but yeah:
Recently, our buddy Lance Goodthrust at "Bitches Love Smiley Faces" let us know about the plan for a remake of the 1986 classic The Karate Kid. It's one of my favorites. Please, stop laughing at me.
Moving on, a remake of a movie like this is pretty much guaranteed to be a major bust. Let me tell you why a remake is a bad idea and why it can't hold a candle to the original.
30. Nothing beats a drunk Mr. Miyagi.
29. The movie needs a sort of cheesiness in it, especially in the main character. Nobody can be cheesier than Ralph Macchio. Nope, not even Mario Lopez.
28. It's going to be tough to top a young Elisabeth Shue in that mini skirt begging for a bang.
27. Are they going to replace the "crane" technique with some stupid new martial arts move? Again, cheesy is key, and the crane is just that. Nobody wants a mini Jet Li in this movie. It's supposed to be a cinderella karate story about a scrawny white kid that's considered to have no chance, not some martial arts specialist straigh outta Shanghai.
26. What really needs to be changed? This isn't a high tech movie with flying cars, fancy tv's, or kickass weapons, it's karate. It's been the same way since the beginning of time.
25. When they said "Cobra Kai Never Dies", you weren't supposed to take that seriously.
24. Is there a cooler villain than the Cobra Kai sensei John Kreese, played by Martin Kove? "No Mercy". "Sweep The Leg". "You're a pushy little bastard, ain't ya? But I like that. I like that!" If you said Sauron... there's the door.

They entire Cobra Kai crew can never be replaced, NEVER. That should be reason alone to skip this trainwreck of a project. Hollywood has no shame and no sense of nostalgia.

If the reaction were a genuine "holy shit...thats shocking....get out of town" kind of "woah" I wouldn't have issue. It was how he delivered it that killed it for me.

I think it would have been funny if instead of Keanu Reeves playing Neo they used JB Smoove (Leon, CYE) and instead of "whoa" he says "GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE!!".

When an A-list actor who is paid a ton of money for a project thinks something needs to be tweaked I'm sure they are at least listened to.
If Angelo had picked McClellin, I would have been expecting to hear by training camp that kid has stage 4 cancer, is actually 5'2" 142 lbs, is a chick who played in a 7 - 0 defensive scheme who only rotated in on downs which were 3 and 34 yds + so is not expecting to play a down in the NFL until the sex change is complete and she puts on another 100 lbs. + but this is Emery's first pick so he'll get a pass with a bit of questioning. - 1060Ivy

I'm still sticking to my statement. Nobody expects much input from Keanu simply because he's paid well. He hasn't earned that kind of respect as an actor. They knew what they were getting. And again, if the producers were unhappy with his performance, nobody forced them to sign him up for 2 more movies. It isn't all that uncommon to have lead actors changed in sequels.

The Wachowskis don't seem like people who are very open to suggestions about their "vision" much like the Coens

I read a book about the Coens (can't remember the name of it). Apparently they storyboard every single shot in their movies and the film is shot *exactly* as the storyboard says. I can't imagine the man hours that are put into that process.
