Yea, but I like "new" Jim Carrey.
If Angelo had picked McClellin, I would have been expecting to hear by training camp that kid has stage 4 cancer, is actually 5'2" 142 lbs, is a chick who played in a 7 - 0 defensive scheme who only rotated in on downs which were 3 and 34 yds + so is not expecting to play a down in the NFL until the sex change is complete and she puts on another 100 lbs. + but this is Emery's first pick so he'll get a pass with a bit of questioning. - 1060Ivy

No. He CHOOSES to say Yes to everything. The previews make you think he is forced or hypnotized, but he chooses to say yes. Liar Liar he was forced to not lie. There was some of his old face contortions gags. The Fight scene is HILARIOUS!

Bruce Almighty was ok, not nearly as funny as his older comedies, but not terrible. I liked him a lot in Eternal Sunshine, but that wasn't a comedy. Number 23 was pretty uneven, and overall disappointing. His foray into dramas has been a mediocre success at best. Anyway, I'm not sure if he's capable of going back to his old insane self, so I'm gonna wait for this to make its way onto cable.

He mixes it up. His old insane gags and face contortions with newer comedy bits. Zooey is hot. Other stuff/people are funny that I don't want to give away.

Truman Show wasn't half bad though no where near the caliber of Eternal Sunshine. I think Eternal Sunshine was his peak from that catergory and I doubt he ever really gets close to that level of performance ever again.

As far as comedies go I will give Yes Man a chance, the concept fits him perfectly.

I've yet to see a Jim Carrey movie I didn't enjoy. Even "Once Bitten".

That's a classic from before anyone even knew him. I wish they'd still show that on cable.

And regarding Truman Show vs. Eternal Sunshine, Gondry and Kaufman are definitely acquired tastes, but I like just about anything they've done over the years. I like both films but prefer Sunshine.
