Yes Man - Mikey - 12-21-2008 Seen it. Funny. Old Jim Carrey was back. Yes Man - bz - 12-21-2008 Yea, but I like "new" Jim Carrey. Yes Man - Scarey - 12-21-2008 It looks like Liar Liar part 2. Right or wrong? Right or wrong?<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd--> No. He CHOOSES to say Yes to everything. The previews make you think he is forced or hypnotized, but he chooses to say yes. Liar Liar he was forced to not lie. There was some of his old face contortions gags. The Fight scene is HILARIOUS! Yes Man - veryzer - 12-22-2008 so he's like costanza? he does the opposite? i gotta admit, this looks funny. he hasn't made a decent movie in years so i hope this is his comeback. Yes Man - rok - 12-22-2008 Bruce Almighty was ok, not nearly as funny as his older comedies, but not terrible. I liked him a lot in Eternal Sunshine, but that wasn't a comedy. Number 23 was pretty uneven, and overall disappointing. His foray into dramas has been a mediocre success at best. Anyway, I'm not sure if he's capable of going back to his old insane self, so I'm gonna wait for this to make its way onto cable. Yes Man - Mikey - 12-22-2008 He mixes it up. His old insane gags and face contortions with newer comedy bits. Zooey is hot. Other stuff/people are funny that I don't want to give away. I think Eternal Sunshine was his peak from that catergory and I doubt he ever really gets close to that level of performance ever again. As far as comedies go I will give Yes Man a chance, the concept fits him perfectly. Yes Man - Clapp - 12-29-2008 I've yet to see a Jim Carrey movie I didn't enjoy. Even "Once Bitten". And regarding Truman Show vs. Eternal Sunshine, Gondry and Kaufman are definitely acquired tastes, but I like just about anything they've done over the years. I like both films but prefer Sunshine. |
