Because the Cleveland Indians signed Kerry Wood to a binding contract that requires him to wear their uniform.

Do your Herpes meds cause the crankiness, or were you just born that way?

I don't know that I really want to see the picture. Of all places he could go, Cleveland isn't too bad (outside of the city being a trashy town). I'll miss him, but the economics of the game are very real (except for the Yankees). I wish him nothing but the best.
I got nothin'.

I had hopes that Kerry Wood would stay a career Cub but it was always wishful thinking. Right now I really hope he gets all the money he can. Especially since it's no longer out of our payroll.

Me neither and if he wouldn't have struck 20 guys in a game a decade ago, he wouldn't even have a claim to fame. That one event made his career, he's really not done much positive other than that.

His 2003 was pretty spectacular -- especially if you include his postseason series against the Braves. If he could've won game 7 against the Marlins (and who knows what after that), he'd be legendary.

But for the most part, I agree. He has never really fulfilled his promise.

I also don't care if he gets paid or not. Why should I care? He's already made millions playing a kid's game. I could work the rest of my life until the day I die and I'll never make as much money as Kerry Wood.
