Milton Bradley and Cubs agree to deal?
<!--quoteo(post=9502:date=Jan 6 2009, 04:15 PM:name=KBwsb)-->QUOTE (KBwsb @ Jan 6 2009, 04:15 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><!--quotec-->He's going to be awesome.
And who's to say that his brand of fired-up intensity/insanity isn't exactly what this team needs?<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->

I kind of think it'll help but I guess we'll see. I'm going to have fun watching him.

You are arguing both for and against stats and scouting right now.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I'm arguing for heavily-researched analysis, as opposed to a guy watching a player in 10-15 games (out of 162) and stating "He's the worst in the world," as if it were a an unchallengeable fact.

<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
No, dude. You are talking out of two sides of your mouth. You can't say that stats are way superior to scouting and then say stats based on scouting are valid.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I'm arguing for heavily-researched analysis. Period. I LOVE scouting. Stats too.
There's nothing better than to realize that the good things about youth don't end with youth itself. It's a matter of realizing that life can be renewed every day you get out of bed without baggage. It's tough to get there, but it's better than the dark thoughts. -Lance

Well...even if we suck total balls the next three years (not likely), he'll be entertaining to watch.

If Angelo had picked McClellin, I would have been expecting to hear by training camp that kid has stage 4 cancer, is actually 5'2" 142 lbs, is a chick who played in a 7 - 0 defensive scheme who only rotated in on downs which were 3 and 34 yds + so is not expecting to play a down in the NFL until the sex change is complete and she puts on another 100 lbs. + but this is Emery's first pick so he'll get a pass with a bit of questioning. - 1060Ivy

Bradley is going to be awesome for us...for the 90-100 games he plays. He's a walking suspension/injury.

Over/under for the first Lou/Board Games showdown in the dugout - 60 games.

I expect it to happen during a rough stretch around the All-Star break.

Watch Bradley get ejected after he gets called out on a tag at first base. Is this really something to lose your shit over?

I started laughing at about 1:45. It looks like he flips off the fans.

Boy...this is going to be a fun three years.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->

As long as he can <i>walk</i> out of the field after it, he can argue and get ejected all he wants, that's fine with me. I'm sure Lou won't have a problem with it either.

That's exactly what I was thinking. When people talk about Bradley, they seem to only talk about the negatives that come from the fired-up intensity. I think the Cubs are in desperate need of such intensity.
We could have DEFINITELY used it during the playoffs, instead of playing like a bunch of lethargic chokers.

I agree with that too. I bet Lou will even join in on the fun.
Can you just imagine Lou and Bradley making an Umpire-Sandwich and screaming at him from each angle? Its gona be fuckin AWESOME.

<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd--> Fair point. On paper this team should clinch soundly, but I really wouldn't be the least bit surprised if some major shit happened to us this year.
