Milton Bradley and Cubs agree to deal?
Quick ESPN blurb on this.
I got nothin'.

It's a bit much, especially given the Burrell signing, but it's not unlike Hendry to overpay for a guy that he wants.

So can we now look forward to having a new version of this game coming out with his picture on it?

There's a difference between platooning and playing part of the season.

true, i just meant that we can't (and shouldn't) count on him to be our everyday player in whatever outfield position he ends up playing so we're looking at paying a part time player 10mil a year.

yikes

Harden and Bradley will become great friends.

3/30? Fuck. I wonder what he's getting this year.

Hard to believe -- especially for a guy who can't stay on the field. And especially in this market.

It really shows you how valuable DeRosa was at his pricetag. He was making $5.5M and he's durable. And versitile.

I just hope he can find a way to not get hurt.

we generally have pretty good luck with that sort of thing

It's too bad that the whole trading Marquis thing kept us from going after Ibanez. For 3/$30m, I think I'd rather have him.

Yeah I hate this. I read 3/24 yesterday, and then seeing Burrell get 2/16, you'd think Bradley's getting closer to that than 3/30. I would've done 2/20, giving this guy 3 years at 10 million per seems a bit ridiculous when he's never been on the field close to a full season, especially when he's not a designated hitter. Well he better have a 1.000 OPS in the games he plays or this won't be worth it. This isn't an exaggeration, history shows and is probably a better predictor with this guy than anybody else in the game that he'll miss a full year's worth of that contract. How about you give a guy like this 7 or 8 mil per guaranteed, and load that bitch with incentives. You play 140 games, put up a certain amount of numbers, we'll double that contract. The games he plays, he plays like a $20 million player, but he doesn't play near enough of them to be getting 10 mil per guaranteed over 3 seasons.

For some reason I'm perfectly ok with this. I'll bet he's making 7-8 mil in 2009.

Yep, Bradley shouldn't be making as much money as that guy.

I agree with that too. Maybe the Nats did push his price up some.
