Milton Bradley and Cubs agree to deal?

RonDL White, that's a good comparison, great athlete, 5-tool player but tons of injury issues. He had a great year for us in 01 other than the injury problems. I'm afraid we might would see the same from Bradley.

That's pretty close actually.

I still don't see how the fans will react negatively to Bradley if he makes an effort to fit in and doesn't start acting like a shithead. His past teammates have always said that he's ok in the clubhouse. The only things fans might boo him for is if he puts together a Jacque-like season production wise and starts making smartmouthed comments to the media about the fans being too tough. If he performs, he'll be accepted just fine. But that goes for all players, not just Bradley.

You are missing the HUGE point that everyone is making. You cannot compare the fans behavior of the two because they are completely different situations. As has been said numerous times, NO ONE wanted Jock...I really can't think of one person that was happy when we signed him. Seriously, the guy got booed at the Cub convention!! Mark Prior didn't even get booed at the convention. Jock had no chance from day one. Bradley will be different, most people think it is a good signing and most good fans know what we are getting with Bradley....a damn good hitter with a huge injury risk.

I agree there is no comparison of the players themselves. My comparison is the fans behaviour. Bradley is a known hothead. I can't imagine he'd respond well to some of what the fans have done to other players.

I'm hoping Bradley comes out and plays well. If he does that, he will be loved.

He's a switch hitter, so unless he is hurt, he is not going to platoon.
