That's the least of my worries. We're talking about Abreu and worried about age? The team has a very limited minor league system. So of course we're not going to be young. The entire team has been consistently built up through free agency and trades. With that in mind, the team isn't going to be a bunch of youngsters.
I got nothin'.

Aurilla should be a better backup than Cedeno anyway.

Technically we got younger by trading DeRosa for a group of youngsters and signing Miles who is a couple years DeRo's junior.

WTF? Aurelia will not replace Cedeno. Guess how many games Aurelia played at SS last year. Zero.
Did he play any 2B? 3 innings. Three. Innings.
He played most of the season at 1B.
He turns 37 next season.
OPS+ last season? 93. The year before? 73.

In other words, right in Hendry's wheelhouse.
There's nothing better than to realize that the good things about youth don't end with youth itself. It's a matter of realizing that life can be renewed every day you get out of bed without baggage. It's tough to get there, but it's better than the dark thoughts. -Lance

I'll take a .283 batting average and 10 homers from a backup infielder. He wasn't exactly in a hitter-friendly park in San Fran either.

His road numbers: .305/.361/.433/.794

His home numbers: .259/.300/.391/.691

2 years ago in Cincy, he hit .300 with 23 homers and a .867 OPS.

And I bet he can still play some shortstop. His days of having great range are gone, but I think he can still play it.

If Hendry ever goes on trial for something, KB should not be allowed on the jury.

Like, say, breaking and entering?
This is not some silly theory that's unsupported and deserves being mocked by photos of Xena.  [Image: ITgoyeg.png]
