Aurilia

I guess Kap reported that the Cubs are talking to his agent.

Nice, because we could use a backup 3b and SS... and Miles isn't exactly average at either of those. This also allows Cedeno to be traded to the Padres.

Speaking of which, there's some Peavy talk on that page too that I didn't see posted before.

Makes sense to me after the DeRosa departure. It would mean Ronny Cedeno is almost certainly gone.

I would love a more defensive oriented infielder. We already have Miles and Theriot who are limited defensively. Would be nice if we could get a stellar glove to put in for crucial late game defense.

Miles is bad defensively? I thought he was above average, at least at 2nd.

Sorry, I meant to say from the shortstop position. We have two pretty good gloves at second already, so that isn't so much a concern. It's the third base ans shortstop depth I though Aurilia would be help out with, and if that's the case I'd rather have a stellar glove.

Is Ty Wiggington too expensive? He could replace DeRosa pretty soundly...atleast offensively.
I hate my pretentious sounding username too.

I think there are several teams looking at him as a starter.

He's fine at 2nd. He's really not good anywhere else though. Pretty much he can play all over the place but you'd rather he didn't.

This team is getting older by the second.

Can Aurilia even play an adequate SS anymore? He hasn't played there much at all the past few seasons.

Exactly. Projected lineup has an average age of over 30.5 for 2009. Only 2 position players in their 20s, Theriot at 29, Soto at 26. Not good.
