The reasons why Ricketts would be the preferred owner are a) he lives here and is a true fan like us, and I can't say that about the other 2 groups, b ) his family is loaded (he didn't inherit his own wealth either), he's been successful in just about everything he's done, and the ownership structure under the Ricketts would be more flexible and much less complicated than the multi-layered, multi-party structures of the other 2, and c) I know more about Ricketts as a person indirectly through business contacts, and everything I've heard is that he's good people. I know nothing about the other 2 groups. Why would I root for some ivory tower NYC private equity bigshot (Utay) who's only financed businesses and never actually operated them, and some South African real estate tycoon (Klaff) who is new to baseball?
