Updated. We should probably bring up rules and what not. If anyone has any suggestions, concerns or ideas, feel free to voice them. Ideally, it would be nice to get the format/rules squared away now so that everyone is happy (like that will ever happen) and the league stays active, fun and competitive. Ideally, we shouldn't have to go over rules every season, but since we're still a few years into this, and we have new owners coming in, it would be nice to get their input.

I played in a league last year with weekly rosters, and I wasn't a huge fan of it. If you miss setting your roster before the week starts, you're screwed for the whole week. I thought we had compromised by setting up the rosters with more position players an fewer bench spots so that you didn't have to change them everyday last season?
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Honestly, it's more the pitcher stuff that kills me. I don't have the time (and in all probability the ability) to manage a large roster of pitchers that need to be inserted or taken out of the lineup.
when I say weekly transactions, I mean we draft a team of 23 guys, and all 23 are ALWAYS active. There is no setting lineups, so we don't draft 12 pitchers to rotate on a daily basis. The weekly transactions are weekly, as opposed to daily, changes to your 23 man roster. That is the mentality of being in the same kind of league for 20 years, I don't have the mental wherewithal to plan ahead. I simply have to draft 9 pitchers, let them start their normal turns, and once a week make sure they are all healthy.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
So, you're saying you don't really like fantasy baseball?
I mean, you look at your team, you see the little "PP" next to their name and you move them off the bench. It takes 30 seconds...how difficult is that? If you have more time one day, then you do a little research and find someone to replace Crappy McGee.
Colorado, I say we take this league to the next level. I want real time roster changes. You have to move players between batting and fielding spots between innings and you can only move relievers off the bench if they are actually in the bullpen warming up. Daily roster moves are for half ass fans.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
NO smartass, I'm saying I don't like playing fantasy baseball with daily lineups. There is a big difference. If you actually took the time to read what I said instead of just inserting your random jackassery, you would realize DRAFTING a 23 man roster that doesn't change weekly and DRAFTING a 23 man roster that changes on a daily basis, are two entirely separate fucking concepts, regardless of looking at a PP next to their names.
For instance, in a set league drafting 9 starting pitchers is fucking stupid, because they will murder your WHIP and ERA, and if they suck, there is nothing to you can do about it. In a league that changes lineups every day, drafting 9 starting pitchers is smart, because you can ride hot pitchers, take out guys that are killing you or have a bad matchup. It gives you flexibility.
I've been playing fantasy baseball in multiple league for 20 years. I've also been playing fantasy baseball the way it was FUCKING INVENTED. See back in 1987, when I started, we didn't have the internet to make daily transactions. This is how the game has always been played. If you like daily changes, knock yourself out, but spare me the smart ass lectures about it, OK?

Roto - do you participate in the NFBC? I spend some major money there every year. They have the best fantasy baseball setup around.... and they have weekly moves. You have 30 players, with 23 starters. You put your lineup in every Monday and those players play the whole week. It's pretty fantastic for those of us that cannot spend hours pouring over baseball stats or don't want the burden of logging in every morning.

No, everyone pays up front. I have no idea when the ESPN site will be up. It's said it will be up "next week" for the past 3 weeks.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
How have winners gone about collecting payment? Can everyone start paying up front. It eliminates a lot of hassle after the league is over.

Everyone has paid the commissioner (CC) up front, and he has sent out the winnings at the end of the year.

Are we looking at doing a draft lottery, as has been discussed in the past?

League is activated. I went ahead and set a draft date, let me know if this doesn't work for anyone:
Draft Type: Live
Draft Date: Thursday, March 25, 2010 at 8:00 PM ET
Time Per Pick: 90 seconds
I can't do it on Mondays or Wednesdays, but otherwise, I'm flexible.

I will play again if you guys can't fill the spot, if for no other reason than to beat Rotodestroyers ass to a pulp. with my old man cane.

Well, that doesn't help with trying to assign a team to Coldneck.

I PM'd this to CC, but thought I should post it here too.
Explain to me the Keeper rules. If I keep 3 players they'll be a substitute for my first three picks, correct? Can I keep one player and then have a 2nd and 3rd round pick? What are your free agent pickup rules?
I'd also like to say you can count me in. If everyone decides to come back that is fine too. I can wait until next year.
