There's nothing better than to realize that the good things about youth don't end with youth itself. It's a matter of realizing that life can be renewed every day you get out of bed without baggage. It's tough to get there, but it's better than the dark thoughts. -Lance

It's so carefully thought out, and supported by "explanations" that I think he really is serious.

The guy has taken a look at an actual trend (MLB's move toward a time where defense and youth are more valuable), and built a team around those parameters, while completely ignoring all of the other relevant factors.

Man, I would hate to watch that team.

Yeah, but according to Ruby, you don't actually watch baseball, so that shouldn't be a problem.
I'm 100% fine with this. I'm just glad there's an actual plan in place that isn't, "Let's load up on retreads and hope we get lucky." I'm a little tired of that plan.

Good point. Let me rephrase that:

Man, I would hate to bitch and whine about that team, and make "melodramatic" statements about it, all the while offending the "true" fans of the team who actively defend the GM who built it, while I secretly watch the Lifetime channel throughout every Cub's broadcast.

nice.
A herd of buffalo can move only as fast as the slowest buffalo. When the herd is hunted, it is the slowest and weakest ones at the back that are killed first. This natural selection is good for the herd as a whole, because the general speed and health of the whole group keeps improving by the regular killing of the weakest members.

In much the same way the human brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells. Excessive intake of alcohol, we all know, kills brain cells, but naturally it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. That's why you always feel smarter after a few beers.
