Since he's out of options, we either get something for him or lose him for nothing in return. I'm not a huge fan of Gathright, but he knows his role and is ok as a 5th OF. Pie, not so much.

If anything, Taguchi will probably be just be around in ST like Takatsu last year so that Fukudome has someone to talk to.
