Cubs-White Sox
#1
Cubs didn't have a hit through 3 innings, just got 3 hits in a row including a 2-run double by Koyie.

Heilman started and kicked ass:

2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 4 K

2-0 in the top of 5.

Miles singles, Lee singles, Hoffpauir Rbi singles, Aramis with a sac fly or RBI groundout. That was all off Dotel too. 4-0 in the top of 6.

It's a little early to make any reasonable calls on the season, but the boys are looking pretty good early on. Usually it takes them a bit to find their stroke and I don't recall the Cubs having very much spring training success over the years. So far, and it's very early, the Cubs are looking good.
I got nothin'.

David Patton pitched well:
2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K

The White Sox are playing a lot of their regulars and they're getting at least 3 at bats, the Cubs have pulled theirs already.

Yeah. People will say that wins in ST are worthless but I'd much rather be winning than losing these games. It's important to build a confident, winning attitude... especially with this team.

I really shouldn't be enjoying it this much considering it's only ST, but anytime we beat up on the Sox, I get a little mahogany. Best news all winter.

Make that 0 IP, 5 H, 1 BB, 8 R, 6 ER

9 run 7th for the Cubs, it's 13-0 in the bottom of 8.

Viciendo is fat, real fat. I don't know if he played today, or not, but he looked like an orca whale in the highlights I saw from yesterday.

<!--quoteo-->QUOTE <!--quotec-->The Cubs will have a much more subdued game Sunday in Peoria against the San Diego Padres, but it's an interesting pitching matchup. Ryan Dempster will make his first Cactus League start against Jake Peavy, who was rumored all winter to be traded to the Cubs.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
