Bullpen
After today's rainout, Wells will pitch Saturday, Harden will pitch Sunday and Marshall will be available out of the bullpen. Looks like no more Cotts when Z gets back and Marshall becomes the lefty in the pen.

I'm a little bit skeptical of Wells after just one start. Lou sometimes jumps the gun on certain people, and it's been costing us games so far this season.

Then again, anything that gets Cotts out of town is fine by me.

I'm not sure how to feel about this. I'm happy about no more Cotts, but Marshall has been pretty solid in the rotation.

Trade Chad Fox and Neil Cotts for a solid lefty set-up man. Problem(s) solved.
There's nothing better than to realize that the good things about youth don't end with youth itself. It's a matter of realizing that life can be renewed every day you get out of bed without baggage. It's tough to get there, but it's better than the dark thoughts. -Lance

What makes you think it'll be no more Cotts? Just because Marshall goes to the pen doesn't mean Cotts is gone. Also, Wells isn't any good, so this won't last long.

Who would trade us anything for a guy with one arm, the one he doesn't even throw with, and Cotts?

I'm guessing KB meant Jake Fox, but who knows

Jake Fox and Cotts for soemthing could be possible, I don't see it netting the Cubs anything of value though.

It's times like these that I wonder how much a Joakim Soria would cost in a trade. Vitters? I might be crazy enough to do that if I'm in Hendry's position.

Seriously though, I would love to see Heath Bell and George Sherrill join this shit ass bullpen.

The Astros will probably trade that douche Valverde whenever he comes off the DL, but they'd probably overvalue him in an intra-division trade.

Times like what? The bullpen hadn't given up a run in like 15 innings coming into today. If Lee and Soto make easy plays, they don't give up any tonight either. The rotation, the pen, the pitching staff in general are not a worry to me. The absolutely pathetic offense and piss poor defense is though. Changes need to be made and additions probably have to happen, I don't see them being needed on the pitching front though.

Times like THESE! You know, the ones where your shutdown reliever gives up a couple walks and allows a run because of it. And your closer gives up a 2 run homer to the biggest douche bag in the NL. THESE FUCKING TIME!

I don't give a shit if the bullpen hasn't given up a run in 15 innings. They just did give it up when it matters. That's the fucking problem. Don't give me the useless fucking stats. Is it really that big of a help when your bullpen doesn't give up any runs when the team is up by 6-7 runs? Or down by 8? Give me a fucking break.

I'm sorry, but when your setup man and closer have a combined WHIP of almost 1.60, that is a fucking problem. Just because the offense has been anemic, doesn't mean the bullpen is NOT a problem.

Blame Lee and Soto if you want, but 9 times out of 10 they make those plays. I can't say the same for the bullpen's ability to succeed.

All I know is that Gregg blows and Marmol has walked more batters than innings pitched this season. It's a problem. Maybe not THE problem, but definitely a problem.

Yep, it doesn't leave us with much of a margin for error, and having all these baserunners on especially to start innings puts a ton of pressure on the defense. I know the defense hasn't helped things by being so unreliable all season, and we can't seem to win a game when we commit an error, but if we continue to walk opposing batters at the current rate, nothing good will come of it.
