Straw Dogs

It's being reimagined for some ridiculous reason, starring James "Cyclops" Marsden. Rod Lurie, the guy who has made mostly political films his entire career will be writing and directing. Wow, this is going to be dreadful. You just don't remake Peckinpah.

Also, I just learned in that link that the comedy "Death At a Funeral" is being remade. I mean, Hollywood must really think American audiences are stupid. The original movie was MADE IN THE UK FOR CRYING OUT LOUD.

Yeah, it's on DVD. Definitely, check it out. It was way ahead of its time in many ways. And while it wasn't a perfect movie by any means, it presents a series of moral dilemmas and gray areas that you kind of have to struggle with, so it isn't just an emptyheaded violent movie. It isn't simply meaningless violence solely for shock value, though some people have argued that's the case.

I've liked some of Luries work, so I'll wait before I totally dismiss it, though I admit it doesn't look promising.
I wish that I believed in Fate. I wish I didn't sleep so late. I used to be carried in the arms of cheerleaders.
