One of the ESPN writers (Olney?) suggested something that I agree with; if you really want a steroid policy that has some teeth, make it a 1-year suspension for 1st offense (without pay), and a lifetime ban for the 2nd offense.

You'd see a whole lot less bullshit with that plan in place.
There's nothing better than to realize that the good things about youth don't end with youth itself. It's a matter of realizing that life can be renewed every day you get out of bed without baggage. It's tough to get there, but it's better than the dark thoughts. -Lance

I'm in favor of skipping the first offense and just get straight to the ban. That'd instantly cut that shit out.
