Cubs vs. Cards 5-20-09

i think our problems run deeper than not playing ryan freel. i mean, i'm all for playing him, don't get me wrong. i just don't think it would make much of a difference at this point.

It's like every time a batter comes up to the plate for us it's Doug Dascenzo.

He's gone 1 for 7, was picked off his first time on the bases, and went 1 for 9 on his minor league rehab assignment. I can't get mad at Lou for not feeling too comfortable putting him out there yet.

Things were going very well until Sunday. Even Sunday we made a valiant comeback attempt. Then we went dead.

He's had 1 start in 2 weeks and Lou had no problem pushing Bobby Scales into the starting lineup.

Because Scales kicked ass and earned more playing time. Getting picked off 2nd base is about the worst thing you can do and it's the first thing he did on this team.

He kicked ass and earned playing time because he got at bats. Oh, by the way, it appears he turned into a pumpkin.

Scales came right out and hit, and made some great plays on defense. Freel's done nothing. I'd like him to get some more playing time too but it wouldn't have made a single difference on our record so far and I don't see how you can seriously complain much about it.

We need to get Hoffpauir in the lineup tomorrow, I don't care how, give Bradley a day off or Soriano or Lee, just get him in there. He is hitting the ball hard and we need a spark.

I agree. Hopefully he can park one when he's leading off next inning(hopefully to tie it if Demp can get out of this).

Hopefully Lou actually uses him, since its to leadoff an inning, I wouldn't be surprised if it was Miles or Freel.

Go for the k, oh well if you walk him.
