Cubs vs. Pirates 5/25/09
#1
Lee scratched with the flu again, which really sucks with how he'd been hitting and since we're facing a left-hander.

Soriano LF
Theriot SS
Bradley RF
Johnson CF
Soto C
Hoffpauir 1B
Freel 3B
Miles 2B
Dempster P

Lee was just sent home apparently, so no chance he can pinch-hit.

Marmol won't be with the team today or tomorrow, wife giving birth in NY.

Ouch.

Congrats to Marmol; hopefully Demps gives us a good start like last time.

Alf is 6 for 17 with 3 homers against Maholm. Maybe tonight he starts a hot streak.

But, I see Maholm's allowed only 2 homers in 57.1 IP this year.

Scales is also sick, but available off the bench apparently. It's just unbelievable.

I'm trying to remember the last time we had any good news. Well, I suppose Zambrano being okay and coming back, but then Harden ruined any of that excitement by going on the DL that day.

Chad Fox blowing out his arm again was good news. And it happened before he could do much damage...except to his own ERA. Of course, that was a while ago.

I can't believe they're playing a home night game on Memorial Day.

And LaRoche hits it right where Theriot would be positioned if not for the shift.
