Maybe I missed something because I was making dinner at the time, but what did Fox do wrong on that play? It looked to me like Scales mishandled the ball while trying to get it out of his glove to me.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Scales got taken out big time, right as he was making the catch, nothing he could have done.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Right, but if he hadn't bobbled the ball when he went to grab it from his glove, he might have had a chance at getting the throw off.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
And if Fox didn't mishandle it, it would have been 2.

I don't think anyone is saying he's Albert Pujols.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Yea, that's made up. Of course, compared to Andres Blanco, Jake Fox is Albert Pujols.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
And he HAS handled the bat pretty well the past few games, so I don't understand why you wouldn't want him in the lineup for one game.

Scales or Fox? Scales mishandled the transfer to his throwing hand, but I thought Fox fielded it cleanly. Like I said though, I didn't have my full attention on the game.

Right, because I'm the only guy on the board who uses hyperbole.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Of course not, but that hyperbole doesn't make sense unless you're saying that people should stop saying that we have a better offensive option on the bench than what we are putting on the field...which also doesn't make sense, as we do have a better offensive option on the bench.

Also, on the DP...yes, it should have been turned, but it wasn't routine. It took an off hop off the lip. I say give him a chance and let's see if he can be serviceable over there. It's not like ARam was a gem at the position when we plugged him in.

So now we're writing Fox off because he took an extra second to get the ball to Scales? I've seen 3 ABs from Fox and he's hit the ball hard twice. The third AB sucked, but c'mon.

It's not like he's played a full season at 3b or anything, the guy has 5 minor league starts there, five.

I'm not denying he struggles over there. But if he can make even the routine plays over there, he should be playing right now. And if he can't make the routine plays, he shouldn't be up wasting on the bench.

Maybe I missed something because I was making dinner at the time, but what did Fox do wrong on that play? It looked to me like Scales mishandled the ball while trying to get it out of his glove to me.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Scales got taken out big time, right as he was making the catch, nothing he could have done.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Right, but if he hadn't bobbled the ball when he went to grab it from his glove, he might have had a chance at getting the throw off.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
And if Fox didn't mishandle it, it would have been 2.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
So now we're writing Fox off because he took an extra second to get the ball to Scales? I've seen 3 ABs from Fox and he's hit the ball hard twice. The third AB sucked, but c'mon.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Whoa there, where did I write him off?

Right there.

Soriano is 4 for his last 34.

He needs a day off.
