What should be our trade target?

While I do agree with you, doesn't adding a middle infielder make things a little crowded seeing as we still have Miles and Freel? It was such a mistake to get two second baseman who can capably play SS.

We could easily cut Freel loose, we aren't paying him much of anything.

True, but you don't need to get more power out of your middle infield. Brett Boone all jacked up on roids isn't walking through that door.

We need to have corner infielders who can hit for power.

Well, Lee's going nowhere nor is Ramirez. There could be a stopgap until Ramirez gets back, but that's it. There's not an upgrade to be had in the OF at all and it's not happening behind the plate. The only feasible spots for upgrades is at 2B and SS. If there's no one to get there, there's no one to get. The SP is fine, the BP is fine (obviously an upgrade could happen here, but it's not all that necessary), the OF, C, and the corner IF won't be touched. In an ideal world, I'd love to see a true SS acquired, that's a top of the order guy, and see Theriot and Fontenot split time at 2B.

I've agreed with Ruby more this afternoon than in the past 3 years combined.

The Cubs aren't interested in Adrian Gonzalez. I'll bet you a bajillion dollars we don't trade for him.

That would be the best possible scenario IMO. I wanted that in the offseason as well after the DeRosa trade, but then Miles happened.

If you want to avoid sticking your head in the oven, don't look at what Orlando Hudson is doing for the Dodgers (and how much he is getting paid). He was available pretty deep into the offseason, IIRC.

Oh, I know. The Dodgers' entire middle infield should have been ours.

I remember you were the first one pushing for him. I jumped on board with that idea, too.

Too bad Hendry didn't jump on board.
