What should be our trade target?

That would be perfect, but who's out there?
Many people on here have compared this year to '04, ironically when we got Nomar. I just don't see us getting anyone that is an upgrade, other than Michael Young. He's raking right now, and if Texas would do it, then sign me up.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
He's been playing third base all year, and Texas is in first place.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I know that. But with Andrus at short, and the money left on his contract, they could move him. It's possible.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
But why would they? He's pretty much the captain of that team, and they're in first place for the first time in what feels like forever. They should be doing everything possible to win that division. If they go in a slump the Angels get a commanding lead which I think is very possible, then sure, maybe he becomes available.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I hear you. But lets not forget that he was rumoured to be dealt in the offseason. Hicks is the hole big time having lost over $75 million at Liverpool this past year. Money will loom large for the Rangers, especially once they fade.

It's not a glamorous move, but it's realistic and easy: Wilson Betemit.

I hate to say it but I really think Miguel Tejada can be a good addition to the team. He is in the last year of his contract and is hitting really well. Doubt the astros trade him to the Cubs though........

Pirates and Freddy Sanchez?

injured Valverde and Houston?

possibly Victor Martinez and Cleveland? (longshot)

Anyone have any ideas?

I still would like this team to have a true dominant ace but probably not at the expense of Vitters<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->

I was trying to think of an out there trade to a team that was out of contention. A team that the Cubs have already dealt with.

Do you honestly think that Victor Martinez is an option? If so, you are delusional. First of all, the Indians are not trading him. Secondly, we would have to move Lee BEFORE we made any move and no one wants Lee. Finally, he is only 30 years old, he is in his prime and he is batting almost .350 right now...we can't even afford him prospect wise.

Wow. I guess I have to be really specific with you two. Like I said before it is a long shot. Do I think it will happen. Probably not. Could it happen? Sure there's a chance.....a long shot. Would it be out of this world crazy for the Indians to trade Martinez? Not really when you look at the state of their team. Will it happen? No, it's a long shot.

Now, I tried to just put 3 trade ideas for the hell of it and those came off my head for the hell of it. I'll try to be more realistic with those in the future so I don't confuse you guys with phrases like long shot.

There's nothing better than to realize that the good things about youth don't end with youth itself. It's a matter of realizing that life can be renewed every day you get out of bed without baggage. It's tough to get there, but it's better than the dark thoughts. -Lance

I'll try to be more realistic with those in the future so I don't confuse you guys with phrases like <b>long shot</b>.
