We're not going anywhere this season anyway.

Dude, you have the ugliest avatar in world history.
There's nothing better than to realize that the good things about youth don't end with youth itself. It's a matter of realizing that life can be renewed every day you get out of bed without baggage. It's tough to get there, but it's better than the dark thoughts. -Lance

Seriously, this season is just a series of disappointments one after another. Our track record over the years of overcoming such things isn't good. I haven't felt like this since 2005-06.

<!--quoteo-->QUOTE <!--quotec-->Harden watch: Rich Harden will make a five-inning rehab start Saturday at Triple-A Iowa and tentatively is scheduled to return to the mound on June 12 against Minnesota at Wrigley Field.

When Harden went on the disabled list with back stiffness after a May 17 start against Houston, he said he'd miss only two starts. But it will be 25 days and four starts if he returns on June 12, and there's nothing to assure the Cubs there won't be a recurrence of the back problem later on this year.

Harden had a bullpen session on Thursday. He said his back feels good, but added: "You never know with things like that."<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Going into the season relying on Bradley and Harden was akin to going into the season relying on Wood and Prior. You'd think Hendry wouldn't make that mistake twice.

I think that's overstating it for 2 reasons:

1. Bradley & Harden play different positions. Counting on Prior and Wood was more problematic because they played the same positions, so when they were both hurt, their was a huge gap in the rotation.

2. Though related to 1, at least as to the starting rotation, we're a lot deeper than we were with Prior & Wood. When they were both hurt, we had Z and that was about it. When Harden's hurt, we have Z, Dempster, Lilly, etc.
This is not some silly theory that's unsupported and deserves being mocked by photos of Xena.  [Image: ITgoyeg.png]

<!--quoteo-->QUOTE <!--quotec-->Rich Harden (back) has been scratched from his scheduled minor league rehab start Sunday at Triple-A for undisclosed reasons. Harden had been slated to come off the disabled list Friday against Minnesota, but those plans have changed.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->

I was wondering if it was something like that or if it was weather related.

Harden had a good rehab outing Monday night:
3 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 6 K

70 pitches through 4 1/3.

Conflicting reports?
<!--quoteo-->QUOTE <!--quotec-->Cubs right-hander Rich Harden, who has been on the disabled list since May 18 with a mid-back strain, tossed 4 1/3 innings in a rehab start for Triple-A Iowa on Monday.

Harden allowed two runs, one earned, on three hits against the Round Rock Express while striking out six and walking two.

He was removed in the fifth inning after throwing 70 pitches, 44 for strikes.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
