Although he had 2 bad starts, Wandy came in with a 2.97 ERA, he's been far from mediocre this year.

Whatever. 1 fucking run in that bandbox facing Wandy Rodriguez. Make excuses if you want--the offense sucked.
I'm 100% fine with this. I'm just glad there's an actual plan in place that isn't, "Let's load up on retreads and hope we get lucky." I'm a little tired of that plan.

I'm not making excuses, the offense got shut down... but Wandy isn't some scrub like you are making him out to be, <!--fonto:verdana--><!--/fonto--><!--sizeo:2--><!--/sizeo-->since 2007 his ERA at Minute Maid Park is 2.75, and that was heading into tonight. <!--sizec-->

Well, if they had scored 2.75 runs, they would have won the game.

We never score off Wandy in Houston. We've faced him 5 times there since the start of 2006:

6/6/06 - 7.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 5 H
8/16/07 - 8.0 IP, 1 R, 1 ER, 4 H
7/19/08 - 6.2 IP, 1 R, 1 ER, 9 H
4/7/09 - 6.0 IP, 1 R, 1 ER, 4 H
6/10/09 - 7.0 IP, 1 R, 1 ER, 5 H
This is not some silly theory that's unsupported and deserves being mocked by photos of Xena.  [Image: ITgoyeg.png]

This belief around here that Wandy sucks (not just you Lance, it's been many people over the last couple years) is just flat out wrong. No, he doesn't have fantastic stuff, and he pitches better against the Cubs than the rest of the league it seems, but he's still a very good pitcher, especially at home. The Cubs shouldn't be pounding him around like people seem to think.
The thing you need to remember is that all Cardinals fans and all White Sox fans are very bad people. It's a fact that has been scientifically proven beyond a shadow of a doubt. Being a Cubs fan is the only path to rightousness and piousness. Cardinal and White Sox fans exist to be the dark, diabolical forces that oppose us. They are the yin to our yang, the Joker to our Batman, the demon to our angel, the insurgence to our freedom, the oil to our water, the club to our baby seal. Their happiness occurs only in direct conflict with everything that is pure and good in this world.

I don't think it's out of the question to expect us to score 2-3 runs against this douche, at least once in a blue moon. I think that was Lance's point.
