You can never get enough pitching my friend. Who says Hardens gonna be healthy for the playoffs? ( If we make it) There are so many questions between now and October that I think we need a Pedro insurance policy. He'll cost some money, but I don't think it'll break the bank.

Exactly. That and odds are Z or another pitcher will get hurt again so we could really use another pitcher

I'd take him at a low price, and if he's willing to have a bullpen role. Each of those things would surprise me. I'm not sure he's better than anybody on our pitching staff at this stage anyway though. Reports are he's been hitting 94 mph on the gun, but he's been pitching in the 85-90 range the last few years. That's probably just him letting a few go for the scouts. Anyway, he could do better than signing with us, the Rays make more sense.

I agree with you guys in that you can never have enough pitching though.

Maybe Pedro and Harden can pitch on the same days and combine for 4/5 innings each start and be the ultimate weapon.

The notion that the Cubs pen has been a problem over the last month and half is baffling to me.
