It's the right move. I just don't think he should be rushed to the big leagues. He belongs in college ball or the minors. JuCo ball will be great for him.

I don't think they'll rush him to the majors. Since this is baseball, and not a sport like basketball or football, then it's fine. Kids who don't want to go to college don't belong there. As long as he's getting his equivalency, then it's fine.

I was reading this story earlier. Pretty interesting and I'm not sure what I think about it. Seems like it could set a precedent for this type of thing, which might not be a good thing.

I think as long as the league has a rule that you must have a diploma or GED, then I don't think it'll be too much of a problem.

He's got amazing physical tools, but he doesn't need to be rushed into the majors. He needs to let his body develop and up his level of competition at an incremental pace.

Shrug. As long as kids aren't being exploited before they have proper decision-making capacity, they should be allowed to do whatever the hell they want in this regard. If a guy decides he's ready and flops, so be it.

What sucks is that the Nationals are going to be rewarded for their unbelievable stupidity and total ineffectiveness as a baseball organization.
In back-to-back years, they'll get to sign the best pitching prospect and the best hitting prospect of our generation.
There's nothing better than to realize that the good things about youth don't end with youth itself. It's a matter of realizing that life can be renewed every day you get out of bed without baggage. It's tough to get there, but it's better than the dark thoughts. -Lance
