Reed Johnson to DL
#1
per DeLuca, Freel is on his way to Detroit, he will be activated for tomorrow's game. Reed Johnson to the DL with bad back.

I guess Freel becomes the backup CF.

This sure has been a shithouse season.

Has there been single player on our roster who hasn't had either a terrible slump or a DL stint so far? It's been one thing after another this year. Not much to be satisfied with.

I'm trying to think of one. Hasn't there been even one guy who's had a solid year?
I don't think we have an All-Star.

You know who has kicked a little ass? Ted Lilly. Only a 7-4 record, but he's really pitched well. One of Hendry's best-ever moves.
There's nothing better than to realize that the good things about youth don't end with youth itself. It's a matter of realizing that life can be renewed every day you get out of bed without baggage. It's tough to get there, but it's better than the dark thoughts. -Lance

Well, every team has to have at least one All-Star. Who would it be on our team? Holy hell, do we suck. I can't come up with one.

It's gotta be a pitcher. Lilly or Zambrano probably.

Lilly deserves it.
I'm 100% fine with this. I'm just glad there's an actual plan in place that isn't, "Let's load up on retreads and hope we get lucky." I'm a little tired of that plan.

Yep, Lilly's been solid as a rock. And if Guzman hadn't gotten hurt, he could have been a good choice to make it out of the pen too as a longshot candidate.

Soriano could get picked just because of his home run numbers...

But Lilly definitely deserves it.
I hate my pretentious sounding username too.

If Soriano doesn't get voted in, there's no chance he makes the squad.

$135 M payroll and our only all star is going to be Ted Lilly. And I don't think we'd even have him for sure if they didn't have that stupid rule where every team HAS to have an all star. This is pathetic, really. Maybe even worse is that we're still in the hunt in the Central.
