<!--quoteo-->QUOTE <!--quotec-->Still, just DL his ass, and let him work it out in the minors.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I forgot to include this, but I agree DLing him would be the best option. It's been fairly obvious to me his knee is the biggest reason for his struggles. I can't remember the last time I've seen him take a full, hard swing. Everything seems to be a weak little wave at the ball.
The thing you need to remember is that all Cardinals fans and all White Sox fans are very bad people. It's a fact that has been scientifically proven beyond a shadow of a doubt. Being a Cubs fan is the only path to rightousness and piousness. Cardinal and White Sox fans exist to be the dark, diabolical forces that oppose us. They are the yin to our yang, the Joker to our Batman, the demon to our angel, the insurgence to our freedom, the oil to our water, the club to our baby seal. Their happiness occurs only in direct conflict with everything that is pure and good in this world.

I guess I shoulda read closer because Ace said the same thing. BTW Fontenot can't go to AAA, he has no options. On Monday, Fuld will be gone to AAA with 99% certainty.

My guesses on the moves next week would be:
Johnson activated, Fuld to AAA
Ramirez activated, Blanco/Baker to AA (or DFA'd, not sure if they have options . . . I'd assume Baker does and that's why we traded for him as a Freel clone and DFA'd Freel)
Guzman activated and Patton DL'd or Shark to AAA

I mean seriously, batting Soriano first game after game after game. It's ridiculous. Why can't he be moved down in the order--because he doesn't feel comfortable anywhere else? Because he'll see worse pitches? Bullshit.
Honestly, I would love for all this to workout this season. I'd love to see us making a charge to win the division. And while it's nice to win some big games here against the Brewers, you have to be delusional to think that the Cubs can take this division and more importantly, win playoff games with Soriano as it's leadoff hitter.
Until I see Piniella either bench Soriano or move him down in the order, I will question him.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
He was NOT the reason we've been swept 2 years in a row.
Just so I get this straight. You want to bench Alfonso Soriano a multiple time MVP who gets his career numbers every year, for Sam Fuld?
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Maybe if our lead off hitter had gone better than 3/28 in those series, we would have at least had a chance. Also, who cares what Soriano has done in the past. The fact is that right now, and for a very long time this season, he has not been hitting for shit. To keep leading him off (or playing him at all if he's injured) is absolutely foolish. If he's injured, then let him take the time off to recover so he can actually contribute. If he is just sucking for no apparent reason, I think you've got to shift things around and try to do the best thing for the team.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
So you would advocate moving ARod down in the order because he's struggling badly right now?
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I don't think his struggles match the struggles of Soriano. I don't think it's a fair comparison. Maybe if you would do a better job of sucking Alfie's dick, he would be more relaxed and play better.

Oh, and I've always been in the camp that it's fine to leave Soriano in the leadoff spot, but I think he needs to move down for awhile and the Cubs need to move Fuk or Bradley up in the order.

If we are going to move Soriano out of the leadoff spot, and I am absolutely in favor of it, it shouldn't be done the way it was early in the season where he was moved back to the leadoff spot in 2 or 3 games. Rather, he has to be given at least 2 to 3 weeks to adjust before re-evaluating the situation. I think the 5th spot is perfect for him. When Ramirez comes back this is the lineup I would like to be tried out
Theroit
Bradley
Lee
Ramirez
Soriano
Soto
Fukudome
Fontenot
I know that the lineup is not R-L-R-L balanced, but none of our LH hitters deserve to be batting in the run producing spots 3-6. And I really really hope we get a 2B before the trade deadline. And about the moves I think Baker, Hart and Patton should be sent down when Ramirez, Johnson and Guzman come up.

Pretty sure Baker is out of options. At the start of the year there was talk of him being available because he was.
I expect Fuld and either Fox or Hoffpauir will go down.
Blanco is our only SS backup with Miles hurt.

I wouldn't be surprised him Hoffpauir is demoted. He been pretty shitty this year. Now that Fox is here Hoffpauir is expendable IMO.

Normally a guy can be sent down an infinite number of times in a year, so does that mean it's different for Blanco because they just added him to the 40-man after he's had Major League time with anther team?

Yeah. An option isn't used if a player isn't on the 40-man roster.
This is not some silly theory that's unsupported and deserves being mocked by photos of Xena.

Yeah. Apparently Blanco's three option years were used up in Kansas City a long time ago.

Mark me down for wanting Fox over Hoff at this point. Fox can play more positions and just seems to make more consistent contact. All Hoff has to offer is being LH and some power.
Now that Baker is here, it kind of makes one of the two expendable, but Blanco is now MUCH more valuable to us. He's the only true middle IF backup on the team.

Agreed, now with Baker able to backup 1st base, Hoff can be sent down.
