This season is the bizarro 2008 year from start to finish.
Maybe that will also mean that we end up going all the way.

<!--quoteo-->QUOTE <!--quotec-->An MRI on Geovany Soto's strained left oblique showed "some damage," but a decision on his status likely won't be made until after the All-Star break. The diagnosis is quite vague right now, but the team plans to play one man short to see how Soto's oblique responds to eight days of rest. Stay tuned.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
<!--quoteo-->QUOTE <!--quotec-->Jake Fox could see time behind the plate with Geovany Soto sidelined. Koyie Hill will almost surely start the next four games, but Fox, a former catcher in the minors, is ready to fill in, if needed.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Well, vague is definitely not good. I wouldn't be surprised if we barely see Soto the rest of the season.

Wonderful.

If theyre planning on resting Soto for at least 8 days why not put him on the dl? It just doent make sense to me.

We have refused to put people on the DL right away earlier this year, there is no need to change it now.

Because of the All-Star break.

As long as he isn't used you can always backdate it to the last time he played in a game.

Bring up Robinson, is he tearing it up still?

Didn't we have some kid in ST who was sharing the catching duties with Hill, Soto and Bako? I can't seem to remember who that was.

I don't know if it's true, but I often feel that many of these sorts of baseball injuries could be mitigated if the players were more serious about their conditioning. Of course, there is no way to prevent all pulls/strains/etc. but it seems like the training routines may not be appropriately designed or used to meet the specific demands of being a baseball player.
