If it can possibly work out(basically if he can get along with everybody), keeping Bradley is by far the best option. The report that the Cubs are moving Fuk back to RF makes me believe Bradley will still be dealt though.

Cubs trying hard to trade Bradley

The question is: Who'll take him?

The prime candidates could be the Rangers and Rays, though the Giants are mentioned as a possibility, as well. Bradley thrived his one year in Texas, when he got along with manager Ron Washington and only one major blowup occurred. Giants manager Bruce Bochy is said to feel better than most about Bradley, as well.

"[Bradley] needs to go to some place small, like Kansas City or San Diego,'' one GM said.

The Rangers, who seek a right-handed hitter and are the most obvious team to have had a positive experience with Bradley, would probably take the 31-year-old outfielder if the Cubs paid a vast majority of the $21 million remaining on his crazy contract. Texas appeared willing to give Bradley $6 million for one year last winter, but if they are would pay $5 million for two now, that would mean the Cubs would only have to eat $16 million of the $21 million.

The Cubs are looking at other teams that have players with similarly bad contracts, such as the Rays (Pat Burrell), Giants (Aaron Rowand), Angels (Gary Matthews Jr. -- though Chicago appears not to have interest in Sarge's son), Royals (Jose Guillen) and Mets (Luis Castillo). If the Cubs took Burrell, though, "We'd have to trade him,'' one Cubs person said, pointing out that Burrell is a DH at this point.

While the Mets need an outfielder, one Mets person wisely said they could never take Bradley in New York.

One rumor had Bradley being talked about in a three-way deal with Castillo and Toronto's Lyle Overbay. But that sounds like a Cubs daydream, as the Jays are said to have no interest in Bradley. Beyond that, it's hard enough to deal Bradley in a two-team deal, much less one that involves three

I find it interesting that some fans expect that the Cubs will get a valuable player who fits in the Cubs needs in exchange for Bradley.

Everyone seems to understand that the situation sucks but some are expected that Hendry will be able to pull a Barrett for Karros and Grundzielanek(?) type deal. That trade goes done as one of the Cubs best all time steals. It isn't the norm and we shouldn't expect a repeat type of trade.

At the end, it will come down to a matter of how much the Cubs will be willing to spend to have Bradley leave the organization. It sucks but Bradley is a douche bag.

The Cubs will probably get a player or more in return but don't expect more than an aging veteran with failing skills. Hopefully, the player will be able to keep track of how many outs are in an inning or not complain about having to play at Wrigley.

Bradley can still be a valuable player. Have his agent write him a heartfelt apology to read to the media. Hit him 2nd in the lineup. Make sure he takes his meds. Pray for health.

I'd prefer that to dumping him for nothing and eating his contract.

This is why Hendry is retarded:

1. Siging an injury-prone malcontent to an expensive THREE year deal. The odds of this blowing up were extremely high. If you take the risk you do it for one year, not three. Way too much risk compared to not enough potential reward.

2. Expecting Bradley to be a run producer instead of a table setter. This is partly on Lou too. Bradley has never been a guy to drive in a ton of runs or even hit with a ton of power. His OBP is way too high and slugging too low to not bat at the top of the order.

3. Destroying Bradley's trade value by bashing him in the media during the season and suspending him (even though he deserved it).
