This came after Bradley's encounter Thursday when reporters asked Bradley about taking himself out of the game without a pinch runner ready following a hit. The scene played out like this:
Reporters: What happened with the injury?
Bradley: "I'm not talking about that. What else you got?"
Reporters: Why did you come out?
Bradley: "I got knee inflammation. I got two knee surgeries. That happens when you got knee surgery, in case you don't know. What else you got?"
Reporters: How long will you be out?
Bradley: "What else you got? Anything significant?"
This went on and on until Bradley turned his back, ending the interview.
Bradley is not with the team as the Cubs prepare for a 7:05 p.m. game against the division-leading Cardinals.
The Cubs signed the oft-moved Bradley to a three-year, $30 million contract in the off-season but are expected to try to trade him this off-season after one disappointing campaign on the North Side.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->

They're not going to trade him looking to get anything of value. If someone would claim him on waivers, they'd be very happy. The question is how much contract will we have to eat. It will probably be an auction in the offseason to see who's willing to take the most of of his contract. The only way we'll get anything of "value" is in a bad contract swap.
This is not some silly theory that's unsupported and deserves being mocked by photos of Xena.

Are releases from a contract ever negotiated? I mean, can we send him to Peoria next season and wait for him to cry uncle...give him a couple of million to rip up his contract and make him a free agent?

Nope. He can refuse an assignment at which points our options are to release him and eat everything left on his contract or to keep him. Can't negotiate a release. The union would never allow it.

I somewhat disagree. It's true that Milton is playing the blame game and doesn't want to own up to his own lack of production, but I wouldn't want to play for the Cubs if I was a major league player, mostly because of the Chicago media. They're all a bunch of vulturous douches. The whole thing just seems kind of poisonous.
That said, Milton has been a little bitch all season long and it's time to move on. It doesn't matter that he was mistreated in the media - he is a professional and should handle himself in such a manner.
I've been rooting for him day after day, and he has continued to open his mouth and prove himself to be an asshole. Last month, I thought that Milton could turn things around by laying low and then performing well next season. He fucked all that up, though, and it's time to jettison his ass.
