Bradley
#76
By the way, I'm getting pretty sick of the sweeping generalizations about Cubs fans. Yeah, it sucks that you're getting booed, Bradley. I feel terrible for you. But these constant articles about Bradley being treated poorly...to what end? To make Cubs fans look like racists? To make us feel guilty? Is it supposed to stop a bunch of drunk retards from booing? Whatever. I'm tired of it.

He didn't use those exact words, but it's implied pretty strongly. Plus, this is just one of many articles where Bradley has complained about the fans -- it isn't hard to read between the lines.

Also, responding to Butcher: <!--quoteo-->QUOTE <!--quotec-->He didn't use those exact words, but it's implied pretty strongly. Plus, this is just one of many articles where Bradley has complained about the fans -- it isn't hard to read between the lines.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->

All he's implying is that people are still booing him and I agree that it's ridiculous since he's actually performing well. Also, I thought there were a bunch of articles that had Bradley complaining about fans too... I tried looking for them. I can't find a quote outside of this recent article about Bradely complaining about the fans. Maybe I just don't know how to find anything like that, but I couldn't find anything.

You know who wins here? Sullivan. He's getting exactly what he wants. He poked and prodded Bradley all year after Bradley said he wasn't going to give the media anything to work with. He has his juicy quote and is laughing his smug little ass off at the Cubs fans reactions. I hate that little shit.

He didn't say Cubs fans specifically, but the way he makes it sound that he goes home to his family after getting booed, I just assume he's talking about getting booed at Wrigley which last I checked was full of Cubs fans. Maybe I'm reading more into it than I should.

I think we can all agree that Sullivan is a worthless bitch, but even MLB.COM reported it.

I don't think the sterotype that Wrigley is filled with a bunch of know-nothing, booing morons is really that far off, personally. It's not like it's an image that's being concocted in the media, it's what's happening.

I gotta agree with Ruby here.

And Rok, I know Bradley was talking about Cubs fans booing him, but Butcher was talking about 'sweeping generalizations'. My point was there were no sweeping generalizations. I think that's all in how Butcher percieves it.

I hate to admit this, but most Cubs fans, and especially those in the bleachers know very little about the game and are only there for the atmosphere.

You could say that about all teams' fanbases, but the % of know-nothings is higher for the Cubs. It hurts me to say it.

Yes -- Sullivan sucks. Bradley has a gigantic chip on his shoulder, though. It doesn't seem like it would be all that hard to get a rise out of the guy. The fact that it took Sullivan five months to do it doesn't impress me.

I really don't think that's true. St. Louis fans -- supposedly the "best fans in the world" or whatever self-proclaimed title they have -- aren't any different than Cubs fans. I was surrounded by Cards fans during the entire weekend I was down there for Koz's wedding. I stayed at the hotel right across the street from the stadium. Drunk morons everywhere after the game -- similar to Wrigleyville after a Cubs game. And the people I talked to -- all very nice people, mind you -- weren't a bunch of baseball geniuses by any stretch of the imagination. "Zambrano Mows My Lawn," anyone? Hell, you don't even have to travel to St. Louis. Just spend a few minutes at Bleacher Nation and find an amazing collection of mouth-breathing Cardinals fans posting away on Ace's blog.

Spend a couple of games at another team's stadium, and you'll find that most fans of every team are morons. I have found that to be the case, first-hand, in Miami, Arizona, Boston, St. Louis, and Detroit.

Fans get over-served at Wrigley. Lots. Especially in the bleachers. Maybe this doesn't happen at much in other stadiums. Plus, Wrigley is absolutely surrounded by bars. I'm not sure many other stadiums are like that.

It's not like Bradley's even close to being the first player to have complaints about the fans attitudes though, just sayin'.

Also, if someone's gonna comment about or make generalizations about the fans, I don't think thye're gonna talk about good ole Geoff up in the nosebleeds cheering his heart out for the Cubs. I'm pretty sure he's gonna talk about the assbags in the RF bleachers that are more concerned about getting their sign on TV, texting their friends, and randomly booing players on their way back from their 10th trip to the pisser. Just my opinion.

+1

It's completely unprovable, but there is simply no reason for the Cubs fanbase to be dumber than any other. I think the fact that we spend more time around Cub fans, and are exposed to the dumb ones more often, may make it seem like there are, but there are dipshits in every fanbase.
