Walk Carlos Lee this time, Lou. I don't care about Blum's history against us.

Putting in the lefty who SHOULD be able to handle the bat is complete insanity.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
If you're going to call for a bunt, put in a guy who bunts from time to time. Valverde was all over the place. You send Bradley home when Valverde's pitch was as likely to be a foot outside as it was a strike? Stupid move for so many reasons. If we lose this game, it's on Lou.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Of course it's Lou's fault. It's always Lou's fault when we lose. This will be just one of 40 games we lose this year that will be "on Lou", either because of pitching changes, batting order, or asking a guy to hit a bunt fair or foul.

I swear Butch, you would fucking read "Casey at the Bat", and blame the manager for letting Casey bat.
I wish that I believed in Fate. I wish I didn't sleep so late. I used to be carried in the arms of cheerleaders.

Jeff Stevens is built like an accountant.

BT, while I completely disagree with you in this case, I do agree with your general premise that fans are to quick to blame the manager and not the players. It was entirely possible that Fox would have come in the game and hit into a DP and some people would be blaming Lou for not hitting a lefty. But I think it was an awful move because Fox had to come into the game anyway and now we only have one bench player left in an extra inning game. Not to mention the emergency catcher has been used.

C'mon BT, I think we all realize that blaming the manager for making bad decisions gets blown outta proportion. But you can't possibly think what Lou did in the 9th was anything but completely assinine.

I'm sure this is where Blum beats us, but you had to walk Lee there. It's not like we get him out regularly either.

It isn't always Lou's fault, but tonight it absolutely is. A suicide squeeze after the pitcher just walked the bases loaded? I liked sending Fontenot up there because his strike zone is tiny. But not to execute a squeeze. That was fucking retarded.

Suck it Blum.

I think the suicide squeeze was a mistake, but whatever happened to the "meh" mistake? Nobody can make any understandable mistakes anymore. Either it was the right move or it was the worst idea in the history of the world.

It was a mistake under the circumstances, but it was an understandable mistake.
This is not some silly theory that's unsupported and deserves being mocked by photos of Xena.  [Image: ITgoyeg.png]
