Cubs-Astros 7/27/09

Lou may have done some convoluted things in that inning, but Fontenot has to execute. He sucks.

A walk (Valverde was wild) or a flyball wins it there. Fucking stupid.

Exactly. Fontenot fucked up, absolutely. It's inexcusable, but he shouldn't have been in that position anyway. Let him swing the damn bat, especially when it's a force out at home and there's no guarantee just getting the ball in play works.

Yeah, and God knows all this team ever does is come through in the clutch like that. If we need a FB, we get a K. Or a DP.

There was almost no risk in what he did, if fontenot's 5'7" ass simply touches the ball.

For sure. just a stupid decision by Lou. Indefensible really. The crazy thing is it looked like Fox was coming in to bat, but was then called back.

I'd say it was pretty defensible.

Font shouldn't have still had his arse on the pine. I'm pissed at Lou's decision to leave the best flyball hitter on the team on the bench in that situation.

But it 100 percent worked. There was NO chance they were getting Bradley if Fontenot executes. There was no way they were getting anyone if Fontenot at least fouls it off.

Did you see that attempt? I'd be pissed if I saw a little leaguer trying to bunt like that.

Yeah, terrible execution. I can't argue with you on that. I just saw no reason for Font to come into the game in that situation especially since Hill had already be pinch hit for.
