Joe Posnanski made me feel better...
#1
I read this (thanks to whoever posted the link):

http://joeposnanski.com/JoeBlog/2009/07/20...royals-edition/

And came away thinking...we've been plagued with injuries all season, we have a shitty farm system and no money to shop with, yet...we're fighting with the Cards over first place.

I'm assuming Joe thinks there's a difference between not whining about injuries (which Lou and Hendry have not done) and pretending they aren't real.

Under the circumstances, I'd have to say there's evidence that the club is being run pretty damned well.

Kind of a topic switch, but since we're talking about front office guys from other teams, has anyone been following the Tony Bernazard shit with the Mets. That fucker was just plain out-of-control. Stories just keep flowing out, now that he got the ax. The latest:

<!--quoteo-->QUOTE <!--quotec-->Another bizarre Bernazard incident

It was an ungodly encounter, to say the least. Tony Bernazard, the Mets' vice president of player development, was visiting the Brooklyn Cyclones' clubhouse last season when a chaplain entered the room. "Get the f--- out of the locker room," Bernazard yelled, according to sources who witnessed the outburst. "Who the f--- are you?" When Bernazard was told by the chaplain his profession and purpose for being there, the Met executive erupted with more fury. "I don't give a f---., get the f--- out of here m-----f---," blurted Bernazard. The chaplian quickly exited.

There's nothing better than to realize that the good things about youth don't end with youth itself. It's a matter of realizing that life can be renewed every day you get out of bed without baggage. It's tough to get there, but it's better than the dark thoughts. -Lance

I watched the Omar Minaya press conference live where he accused Adam Rubin of making shit up to get a job within the organization and then he and Rubin were arguing back and forth... I've never seen anything like that. Omar won't be the general manager for much longer.

Omar was fantastic in getting players from the Dominican in his days with the Expos. They had some amazing players for several years. I agree, he's probably going to be gone fairly soon.
