My mind is blown right now.

So Gorzelanny doesn't suck?

If we don't DL Blanco today, Theriot is not in the game. He has a really big bruise on his throwing arm after getting hit, then airmailed Lee by a mile on a routine play. Now Brenly says he threw a couple more away in between innings and Lou just came out to see if he's alright.

Well, he is facing the Reds. I would grade this an incomplete.

I do love that he has not walked anyone

Yeah, true. I've been impressed with his control as well.

His stuff looks really good though. His velocity was down for a bit and now it's as good as I've ever seen from him tonight. Locating it really well too.

I love that he has gotten Joey Votto out 3 times tonight, twice on strikes.

The RBI single made my Gorzy man crush official.

I like what I'm seeing so far. But, to my knowledge, he hasn't yet denounced the White Sox.

74 pitches, 52 strikes for Gorzo through 6. Not too shabby, even against a poop lineup.

He said in an article after the trade that he's now a diehard Cubs fan, so it's good enough for me, at least for now. When we see his entire family at the ballpark wearing Cubs gear at his first Wrigley start, that should be enough psychological punishment on all of them to satisfy me, and taint them for a generation. That's all you can ask for.

And yeah it's just 6 innings, but he doesn't seem like this guy:

<!--quoteo-->QUOTE <!--quotec-->Gorzelanny battled control problems throughout the first half of 2008, walking 61 and striking out 53 in his first 87 2/3 IP while allowing 99 hits. He was 6-7 but with a 6.57 ERA and was leading the 2008 NL in walks.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->

He's consistently hitting Koyie's target, and has had really good control in AAA. We'll see, but it's very encouraging so far.
