*sigh*<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
How can you say that when the whole team has been healthy for maybe 3 games?
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Great teams put together several sustained winning streaks throughout the year
Great teams consistently win close games
Great teams find ways to win

And last but not least...great teams win playoff games. This team at it's core, is a big fat fucking donut for 6 in the playoffs.

I agree that I'd much rather see the team play together as a whole but we can't deny the fact that this squad simply finds ways to give away games. If it's not our bullpen who can't hold a lead, it's our offense who can't hit. When one key player comes off the DL another heads right to it....then there is that whole counting to three thing.

I thought earlier in the year that once we were healthy we'd run away with the division but the Colorado series REALLY put a dent in my confidence of the team (which was heavily waning leading up to that series).

That's gotta get reviewed. There's no way that was fair.
The thing you need to remember is that all Cardinals fans and all White Sox fans are very bad people. It's a fact that has been scientifically proven beyond a shadow of a doubt. Being a Cubs fan is the only path to rightousness and piousness. Cardinal and White Sox fans exist to be the dark, diabolical forces that oppose us. They are the yin to our yang, the Joker to our Batman, the demon to our angel, the insurgence to our freedom, the oil to our water, the club to our baby seal. Their happiness occurs only in direct conflict with everything that is pure and good in this world.

If you're using the Colorado series to say why you've lost your confidence, I don't know what to say. You're hoping for a split going into that series, I don't care what team you are.

Cubs fandom prepares a man for marriage. You're wife is a lucky woman...and I can wait.

So....would there be any empathy for an alternate viewpoint that said something like.."geez, we've been in the playoffs 2 of the last 3 years...oh, fuck that--fuck that in the ass with a huge cock.

We still have been shitty. I'm pissed. I doubt we make the playoffs this year. But let's hope for a sweep of the Pirates this weekend. Let's have some fun.
I'm 100% fine with this. I'm just glad there's an actual plan in place that isn't, "Let's load up on retreads and hope we get lucky." I'm a little tired of that plan.

Waitaminute. You said that even healthy this isn't a great team, yet you have lost confidence on road trip where the Cubs played without their platoon CF, had a C coming off the DL, played without their 3B and pitched 2 guys that don't pitch if our starting pitchers were healthy?

Can we do something other than bunt? Like hit and run?

Or take some pitches.
I wish that I believed in Fate. I wish I didn't sleep so late. I used to be carried in the arms of cheerleaders.

I fully expect the Cubs to load the bases, and then end the game by getting picked off.

Just color me a jaded prick because at this point in my life I'm so wishy washy on where this team is headed I don't even know how to articulate it! I think I try and soften the blow for myself every year. Not even 6 weeks ago I was saying "we're catching St. Louis", and then when we did, more injuries creeped up and I went right back into my 'son of a bitch every fucking year!' bullshit.

Just pay me no mind I'm angry.
