Good, he has big league stuff with that fastball and power sinker... but needs to refine his delivery and command.

I wonder if he'll refuse the assignment so he can still hang out at SoPo.

Samardzija should go ahead and start his NFL workouts so he can be someone else's problem.

I was going to post something to that effect earlier today. I really wouldn't be saddened if we never saw him pitch again. Typical Cubs draft pick too. A good athlete with a low baseball (and overall) IQ who sucks at the fundamentals of the game and at life.

He went to Notre Dame and won't cut his hair. What more do you need to know?

The Bears could use a WR. Make it work.

His game would not equate to success in the NFL.

Come on, guys. He's focused solely on baseball for what, just three years now? He was RUSHED quickly up through the minors. He's physically very, very gifted. He just needs to keep working on his pitches. There's still plenty of time for him to succeed.

He has 2 years on his contract and then he's a FA. Since he signed a major league deal there is no arbitration (i think). He'll probably sign with the Cardinals and become a lights out closer.
