Question: The Bleachers - Like them or not?

I went to today's game and sat in the bleachers. I'm wondering if it's just me or not, but I hate the bleachers. It's a great place to sit with your buddies and drink but absolutely nobody is watching the game. Drives me crazy.

Thoughts?

By the way, I have went to three games this year and we have won all three. Someone get me season tickets for next year!

I like sitting in the bleachers when a) we're out of the race and I can just relax and enjoy the game, or b ) on the final game of the season where there's no pressure either way. If it's an important game, I'd avoid the bleachers like the plague. Too many morans, and it's distracting. And waiting 2 hours in line for a seat is a complete joke.

Mixed feelings. The frat boy keg party atmosphere can be annoying if you're there to watch the game. I often go to day games by myself...did that once with a bleacher ticket...and will never do so again. Like Rok said...its a good time if you don't care.

Hate the bleachers.

Funkster, whenever I go to games by myself I wait until about 10 minutes before game time and ask for best available at the box office. I have been able to get some awesome seats that way, and have never had a bad seat.

I hate the bleachers! They are the worst seat in the park to actually watch a game from. Like has been said, no one pays attention and you have to line up way to early to get a good seat. I would gladly sit in UD reserved seats before the bleachers.

Have a love/hate relationship with the bleachers.

It all comes down to the group of people that you're seated near in the bleachers.

I've sat next to knowledgeable Cubs/baseball fans and total morans at games.

You'll find mor morans in the bleachers than elsewhere at Wrigley.

Pretty much all of the negative stereotypes about Cubs fans come from what goes on in the bleachers. Not a big fan.

Love them. It's not hard to focus on the game if you want to. Who cares what the people around you are doing?

And I like the vantage point- it's the same view you get on TV, just not zoomed in.

I thoroughly enjoy the bleachers, but prefer great seats behind home plate. I've had some excellent experiences in the bleachers, including the following picture, which was taken by Curt Schilling the year he won the Cy Young with the DBacks. My buddy has a ball from this day that was signed by both Schilling and Randy Johnson.

Love them.
I especially like the stepped concrete platforms in back near the scoreboard.
You can get a bunch of people in there and kick back, good breeze too on a warm day.

I have a great rememberance of the doubleheader sweep of the Mets in 1984.
I was about 5 rows up right against the centerfield batters eye.

I love the bleachers and was hooked the first time I sat there. As for people not paying attention, I've experienced that elsewhere in the park, too. It really depends who you're sitting around each time you're there. I do my best to ignore the morons. I've met many a person out there who watch the game, react to plays, and know what's going on in the league. It was said already, but I also love the vantage point. I like to sit slightly right of center. I can see the pitches and take in the whole park. To me, it's the best seat in the house (except for the time I was in the first row right over the Cubs dugout of course - that was an experience all it's own)
